
| Principal Consultant Dwight
Dawson has a unique combination of internal corporate management roles
and external consulting assignments. His knowledge is derived
from 23 years as a staff professional within three large
corporations. His expertise includes leadership development,
managerial coaching, team development, group process facilitation, and
the general management and support of human capital. As an independent practitioner he has consulted within a variety of industries including energy, chemicals, finance, education, computers, manufacturing, business services and the public sector. He has performed with other consulting firms including CAP Gemini, Drake Beam Morin, Team Leadership Center, and the Center for Organizational Research and Effectiveness. Dwight has served in a variety of senior HR management positions including Plant Human Resources Manager, Refining Department Employee Relations Manager, trainer and senior consultant in organization development programs. His employers have been Conoco Inc., Miles Laboratories, Inc. and Texaco Inc. He was educated at Washington State U!niversity in Business and Psychology. He has continued his self-development with courses, workshops and professional organizations: Organization Development Network, Society for Human Resources Management, Southwest Facilitators Network, American Society for Training and Development, and the AK Rice Institute. Dwight has special capabilities in diagnosing team and small group performance shortfalls. And he has extensive experience in designing and implementing the organizational interventions that are effective in getting work groups off dead center and moving to desired performance levels. For large public sector organizations (Houston, Phoenix, Los Angeles, San Diego, Sacramento County, and Clark County, Nevada) he has managed technological upgrade work team projects, including partnership development processes. He has worked extensively helping individuals and organizations deal most effectively with CHANGE. Listening very well and establishing close relationships with key managers has allowed him to penetrate ‘the same-old, same-old’ and get to the core causes and ultimate problem resolution. Dwight is most at-home consulting with in-place work teams and departments that seek to conquer assigned tasks and improve overall group performance. He has often provided individual managerial coaching, which has led to more expansive interventions for training or group development. |
