What is Coaching?

It's a process of:
  • Focusing clients
  • Helping people set better goals and then reaching those goals
  • Asking clients to do more than they would have done on their own
  • Providing the tools, structure and support needed to accomplish more

As a coach, I work with people when they want to accomplish something important to them.  Coaching may assist them to:

  • Get in touch with what they really want
  • Create a vision that gives them purpose
  • Design inspiring goals
  • Develop a specific plan of action to get there
  • Recover from a major event or problem
  • Communicate straightforwardly and fully
  • Be on a rewarding path of personal development
  • Plan and manage personal or professional change
  • Integrate and balance personal and professional lives
  • Clean up every aspect of life

How?

Coaching is usually accomplished over a period of weeks or months.  Confidential face-to-face meetings of 60 to 90 minutes and held a week or two apart are typical.  Phone sessions may also be used.

As a coach, I will listen, ask questions, make assignments, offer analysis of situations, and paint different pictures of things for consideration and discussion.  Every coaching situation is unique and flexibility is standard in order to obtain best results.  The work is done largely by the client.  I rely more on reinforcing existing strengths than finding problems to fix.
