While searching for a name for my business some years ago, I learned that Kulshan was actually part of my youth. In the far northwest corner of Washington State, were I grew up, there is a snow-capped mountain we know as Mt. Baker. It appeared most every morning as I walked to school, when the fog or clouds lifted. Kulshan is the Lummi Indian word for this volcanic mountain. They named it when it was active; the word means "broken off or breaking away."

In my consulting I've learned that breaking away from the "same old, same old" is usually required for transition to improved performance.

Thus, the company name had to be KULSHAN.
